Dry Eye and Blephasteam
Poorly functioning meibomian glands is a common cause of dry eye. The meibomian glands are located in the eyelids and release oils which reduce evaporation of the tear layer. These glands can become blocked and inflamed resulting in dry eyes. The blephasteam system unblocks the glands by gently warming the lids causing the oils to melt and clearing the ducts. We have found as little as four treatments can significantly improve comfort and reduce the effects of dry eye. Currently available at our Southgate, Docklands, Dromana and Somerville stores.
